Como Taperia came from our deep love and passion for all things Spain, particularly, Barcelona and Madrid. Our latest travels in November took us to Madrid, then down south to Andalusia.

The team spent a week eating and drinking in some of the best tapas bars in the region. From Sala de Despiece in Madrid, Bodegas Santa Cruz in Sevilla, the legendary El Faro in Cadiz, and La Tranca in Malaga. This very special menu is inspired by our favourite spots, and the dishes we enjoyed.

Inspired by many inspirational trips all over Spain, ¿CóMO? Taperia is a tapas bar and restaurant in Vancouver’s Mount Pleasant neighbourhood – a nod to the classic, centuries-old, standing room-only tapas bars in Barcelona’s Poble Sec or Madrid’s La Latina quarters with a cheeky, modern, fun twist that the Spanish pull off so, so well. 

Small tapas are served directly from the custom tapas cases imported from Barcelona and filled with ready-to-eat small bites. Classic dishes like tortilla española are made to order, while dishes like steak with padrón peppers and the finest chorizo come up hot from the open kitchen. Playfully modern dishes, inspired by nostalgic items, are also prepared to order…try the hamburguesa con foie.

Alongside the tapas, the bar keeps a sharp focus on everything Spanish – premium gins with unique tonics, all the sherry we can get our hands on, and an always-changing innovative wine list. Alongside Spanish beer on tap, we will also feature a rotation of local craft beer, cocktails on tap, and yes, you heard it right, Spanish vermut on tap! We also will offer an extensive collection of cava by the glass.
